President Barack Obama laid out his plans and ambitions for NASA during an address at NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida on April 15, 2010. During his address, the President committed to extending the life of the International Space Station to at least 2020.
"And we will extend the life of the International Space Station likely by more than five years, while actually using it for its intended purpose: conducting advanced research that can help improve the daily lives of people here on Earth."

President Obama's Remarks
Following the President's remarks, four panels were held discussing different aspects of the President's new direction for NASA. Astrogenetix's Chairman, Thomas Pickens III, participated in a panel titled "Increasing Access to and Utilization of the International Space Station." Mr. Pickens outlined the current research that Astrogenetix is performing in microgravity, and highlighted the importance of continuing ISS operation until at least 2020.
